Will Hill is a designer, typographer and illustrator with two decades of professional experience before entering education in the 1990s. Prior to this he worked in London for a range of clients including many of the capital’s leading publishers, periodicals and design consultancies. He is the author of The Complete Typographer (3rd Edn, 2010, Thames and Hudson, London). His other publications include essays in Font: the Sourcebook (2008), Art and Text (2009) and journals including Parenthesis, Ultrabold, Letter Exchange Forum, Linotype Newsletter and Multi. He is a member of ATypi, a Friend of St Bride’s, a participant in the SOTA Typecon conferences, and founder of the Beyond the Margins Symposium events. He has given numerous papers at international type conferences and lectures at major universities in the UK and USA.
Jim Butler is a Course Leader B.A Illustration & Animation, Cambridge School of Art. His practice is centred around artist’s books, printmaking and drawing. Exhibiting internationally, his works are in several public and private collections including Tate Britain, The Art Institute of Chicago and The Hague’s Meermanno Museum, while commercial clients include Adidas and Siemens.
